Hi there, I'm Olivia
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in New York, United States.
Several years ago, my family and I moved here. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and higher expectations. Routine tasks felt more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
We faced culture shock, moments of doubt, and a lot of learning on the fly. Gradually, habits took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building a sense of stability.
Why I Built Clear Wind Haven
Online information was mostly either high-level corporate relocation guidance or merely tourist-focused content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that void — practical advice drawn from real life in United States.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in New York or anywhere in United States, don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Olivia
